Welcome to Around the World in 80 Scrapes

Here you’ll find a selection of essays and musings on food and travel from a socio-political perspective. After a decade spent writing about the business and politics of a globe-trotting sport, I’ve decided to turn my attentions to what really makes the world go round — who we are, what we eat, and how we survive. I’ve been lucky to travel extensively, especially in Asia, and over the years I’ve come to realise that we can’t separate our leisure and pleasure from the world in which we live. Everything is political, and context is key. Help me figure it out.
