72 hours of eating and drinking around West London — day one
London is one of the world’s great cities, and I’m not just saying that because it’s where I was born. Thanks to the magic of immigration, it’s a truly international city home to all sorts of fabulous food, very little of which is actually English (thank god). The sprawling metropolis is too big to deal with in one guide — I bid farewell to friends who move south of the river, because with that sort of travel time I’d rather end up in Dublin or Amsterdam — so we’re taking a tip from the Pet Shop Boys and going west. West London is also enormous, encompassing insanely rich neighbourhoods and very poor ones, and the last couple of years have seen a massive uptick in great places to eat at every price point. I’m suggesting a couple of fancy joints if you feel like splashing out, but this guide is about the places I choose to spend my money when at home.
