Singapore is geographically blessed when it comes to food, at the intersection of historic trade routes and home to a mixed population with Indian, Chinese, and Malaysian heritages all well represented. For a country roughly the size of a handbag, it punches well above its weight when it comes to eating, and much of the best food around is very good value. You can spend your time in Singapore shopping (it’s said to be the only shopping mall with a seat at the UN…), exploring temples and museums, or you can do as I do and eat your way around as many hawker centres as you can physically stomach.
