72 hours of eating and drinking around Bangkok — day one
Bangkok is a city that can be anything you want it to be, whether that means days spent shopping, eating, or touring temples. You can get sporty, you can hang out with hipsters in trendy cafes, you can get lost in the winding alleys of the mega marketplace that is Chinatown. For wild nights there are grown-up cocktail bars, clubs with ‘those’ sorts of shows, a huge electronic music scene, and until (if?) the laws change there are cannabis cafes aplenty. Like many Asian cities, Bangkok is both megalopolis and collection of villages, the culmination of a country’s rich heritage crashing headlong into its government’s vision for the future. Not Singapore shiny, but not HCMC hectic either, Bangkok is its own happy medium.
