It’s very cosy and very Mexico downstairs; March 2025.

Kol is, without a doubt, London's fanciest Mexican restaurant. It's probably Europe's fanciest Mexican restaurant, with a Michelin star and reservations for its £185 tasting menu (before drinks or service!) selling out months in advance.

This is not a review of Kol (I can't afford it!), but of the basement cocktail bar which, while still expensive, is the closest you or I will get to doing Kol on a budget. Kol Mezcaleria shares its entrance with the fancy restaurant, so be prepared to feel underdressed for about thirty seconds while they walk you downstairs, at which point the vibe becomes decidedly more relaxed.
