
The best Thai food in all of London comes from an easy to overlook high street pub that looks nondescript from the outside and absolutely HONKS of fermented shrimp the minute you step through the door, so you know it’s going to be good. (London has Michelin starred Thai and it’s nowhere near the same standard.)
The food at Khun Pakin is so good that it’s what I think about when I’m in Thailand and whatever I’m eating hasn’t quite hit the mark. If they can get it right in Hammersmith, of all places, where the ingredients have definitely racked up the air miles, how can they be getting it so wrong in Bangkok/Samui/Chiang Rai/delete as applicable?
